A 40kW on-grid solar project installed in July 2024 at Sai Residency, Kalewadi, PCMC, Pune represents a significant step toward sustainable energy adoption, leveraging the city’s abundant sunlight, with 250–300 sunny days annually and solar radiation of 4–6 kWh/sq.m/day. This project, typically designed for the common facilities, integrates seamlessly with the local electricity grid, reducing dependency on fossil fuels and lowering electricity costs.
It generates daily 160 to 200 units depending on the intensity of radiation. The Society's electrcity bill is now completely zero, not paying any single penny as the system generated surplus electricity in 2024 which is purchased by Discom in 2025 and credited the amount in the cousmer's electricity bill as a principal arrears.
